Dry Storage

When dealing with foods with little to no moisture content such as rice, grains, and freeze dried goods, dry packing is an excellent option to maximize the shelf life of your stored goods. Dry storing items generally requires a moisture resistant container such as a mason jar with a ring and lid or a mylar bag. After properly packaging the food item, an Oxygen Absorber (O2 Absorber)  is then added to get rid of any air inside of the packaged goods. By removing the air, this creates an environment where bacteria cannot grow, increasing the shelf life of the stored item.
