Currently, we are also in the U.S. in the State of Michigan, refining our skill and striving to see how far we can push our selves BEYOND excellence!

WHAT IS FREEZE DRYING???


"Freeze drying, also known as lyophilization or cryodesiccation, is a low temperature dehydration process that involves freezing the product and lowering pressure, thereby removing the ice by sublimation. This is in contrast to dehydration by most conventional methods that evaporate water using heat."


After going through the Freeze Drying process, the Freeze Dried item generally have a shelf life of 20-30 years if stored properly. 


When it comes to Freeze Drying, Green Ark Farms is definitely in a league of its own! One of our main goals is to meet the needs of local farmers by providing them Freeze Drying options for overflow crops that would normally be lost or wasted.


With Freeze Drying, the pie  is the limit...well, not always! Anything from fruits and vegetables to MREs (Meals Ready to Eat) can be made.


Meals can even be customized based off of your dietary needs and then Freeze Dried, making them shelf stable!


Milk, Eggs, Juices, Meats, and other normally perishable items are all candidates for this process. And yes, even certain pies are a possibility too!
